{"id":362,"date":"2018-02-26T19:20:25","date_gmt":"2018-02-26T19:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdkpa.wordpress.com\/?page_id=362"},"modified":"2018-03-04T17:51:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T01:51:53","slug":"book-club","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sdkpa.org\/wp\/home\/book-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having realized that reading is an important element in our children\u2019s learning and education, especially when most of our children\u2019s first language is Korean, SDKPA initially piloted publishing monthly newsletters for our Korean families with recommended book lists to promote reading among our students. SDKPA\u2019s responsibilities and roles have evolved over the years and the current form of SDKPA Book Club was officially launched in 2014 and our member base is growing ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SDKPA Book Club student membership is two-tiered; students from grade 2 to 8 participate the Book Club as members and grade 9 to 12 high school students who volunteered and successfully completed Book Club leader training sessions will be working with groups of member students. Book Club leaders prepare monthly meetings with various activities that member students can actively participate in within the provided context of the books they are discussing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SDKPA is very pleased to provide our students with opportunities to nurture their leadership skills and teamwork through collaborative literary discussions.
